NYCDOT reconstructed the curbs and crossings of these blocks of Street in 2022 to incorporate large scale public sculpture at the tips of the medians at intersections between Cadman Plaza Park and the approach to Brooklyn Queens Expressway. JKLA developed a planting plan for the medians that knits together the plant palette of nearby medians and bikeways, and introduces flowering perennials to extend the seasonal interest, scale and texture."
